About Me

Untitled-1About Me

I am passionate about thinking of the need for mental health, not as an emergency or as a crisis only occasion, but as a rational way of living a well-rounded, healthy life. I am a counselor specializing in working with children of all ages! My work focuses on empowering children, tweens, and teens by fostering healthy emotional regulation and family relationships. I provide support and a space for reflection to adults in times of high stress, transition or when it’s time for an emotional checkup.

I graduated from Regis University in 2012 with a master’s in Community Counseling and a certification in Counseling Youth and Adolescents. Later that year, I completed a certificate in Transpersonal Counseling- a Jungian way of thinking about mental health. I believe my work not only includes seeing clients, but also through presentations, advocacy and encouraging others in my field to find their voice and speak on behalf of mental health. I am a member of the Board of Directors for the Colorado Association of Play Therapy, as well as active in the Colorado Counseling Association and Regis University Chi Sigma Iota, Rho Upsilon Chi, an international honor society for counseling professionals.

I began my private practice almost immediately following school. The goal for my private practice is to be an extension and statement of the fundamental belief that mental health needs the attention of physical and spiritual health in our lives. I strive to be affordable, accountable and I am invested in my clients for the long-term.

I first moved to Colorado in 1994. When not engaged in work, she I spend as much time as possible in the garden, the rivers, and the mountains. I prefer a good book over most other entertainment. My specialty dishes are Ooey Gooey triple cheese and sausage lasagna and vegetarian Pad Thai. My favorite therapists, Josie and Lulu work for kibble and sometime co-counseling with me. They enjoy long walks, tennis balls, and rawhide treats.

I was recently featured on Regis University’s website.
